Congress MLA Nirmal Singh and the commissioner have come face to face over the welcome given to him at the Municipal Corporation office in Ambala, Haryana. Nirmal Singh has written a letter and complained to the Chief Secretary.

The Core of Dispute

Nirmal Singh alleges that when he approached the Municipal Corporation Commissioner with people's problems, the Commissioner did not welcome him and when he went to his cabin, he did not even stand up and shook hands while sitting

Commissioner Termed Matter Nothing

At the same time, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that nothing is as it is being shown. I have full respect for the MLA

What MLA Singh Said

MLA Nirmal Singh said that when he reached the Municipal Corporation office, the Commissioner did not come to welcome him. Nirmal Singh alleges that when he approached the Municipal Corporation Commissioner with people's problems, the Commissioner did not welcome him and when he went to his cabin, he did not even stand up and shook hands while sitting

Went to municipal office 2 times

Nirmal Singh wrote in the complaint sent to the Chief Secretary- I want to draw your attention to the serious matter of unconstitutional disregard and disrespect of elected members by employees / officers under the BJP rule in Ambala. As an elected representative of Ambala city, I had to visit the Municipal Corporation office twice to meet Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sachin Gupta to discuss the problems of the people.

The commissioner's behavior was disgraceful

On both occasions I found his behaviour to be disrespectful and indecent. On 2nd April he did not even follow common courtesy during the entire meeting attended by me and the present councillor. He showed no duty or responsibility towards the various pending development issues raised by us. Far from giving any satisfactory answer to the questions, he was extremely arrogant and indifferent towards the people visiting his office and the matters placed before him.

Public representatives have been treated like this before as well

I have come to know that this is not the first time he has behaved in such an indecent manner towards public representatives. Such indecent behaviour by a member of the executive towards an elected public representative is unconstitutional and unacceptable. As a government official, if he is behaving in this manner with elected public representatives, then one can imagine the inconvenience and humiliation faced by hundreds of common people who visit his office for their work every day.

Action should be taken against the commissioner

Looking at this whole matter, I request you to please take necessary and disciplinary action against Sachin Gupta, so that the message goes to everyone that these unconstitutional acts are not being supported by the BJP government and the public's faith in the newly elected government remains intact.
